LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:

Sainte Marie du Mont is a typical Normandy village with a couple of bakeries, a butchers, a grocery store, a couple of shops selling sea food, and several restaurants/ snack bars.

Close by, the Omaha beach museum is dedicated to the extraordinary men who landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and displays many objects, stories and a moving documentary.

The coastline here is home to a wide variety of natural wildlife – the Réserve de Beauguillot ornithological reserve is one of the premier havens for wild birds in the region; and from the beaches you will see many fishermen (and amateurs!) fishing for cockles and mussels.
